ABSTRACT:
Sulfuric acid of high strength is recovered from spent acids by scrubbing furnace gases with sulfuric acid containing 45 percent to 65 percent H.sub.2 SO.sub.4, removing mist from the gases, cooling the gases and removing water, and pre-drying the gases before final drying and product make-up.
