ABSTRACT:
Improved methods for production of stilbenoids including resveratrol, pinosylvin and their respective derivatives are provided, including producing hairy roots from plant cells and eliciting production of the stilbenes. The plant cells in an embodiment are infected byAgrobacteriumto produce hairy roots, and contacted with substances which elicit production of the stilbenoid compounds.
