ABSTRACT:
There is disclosed a method of continuously casting metal rods wherein the metal is forced to pass through an elongate tube while in a molten state, a cooling medium is circulated about the tube and the metal as it emerges from the tube in order to form a continuous cast rod, and the rod is passed through a bath of another metal whose temperature is sufficiently lower than the melting point of the rod to cool the rod below its critical temperature.
