ABSTRACT:
Dioxazine compound of the formula (I) mentioned below which is useful for dyes or pigments is prepared by heating a compound of ##STR1## in the presence of inorganic acid with or without an oxidizing agent in an inert organic solvent: ##STR2## wherein R is defined above; X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are selected from a hydrogen atom and a chlorine atom.
