ABSTRACT:
A composite insulator-producing process including the steps of forming the housing from the housing-forming insulating polymer material and then vulcanized around the outer periphery of the rod-shaped core member by using the mold in the state that the core member is mechanically or thermally expanded by substantially (.delta.-.alpha.) or more in which .delta. is an axially linear expanded length by which the core member would be thermally expanded if the core member is heated to a molding temperature for the housing, and .alpha. is an axially linear expanded length by which the mold would be thermally expanded if the mold is heated to a molding temperature.
