ABSTRACT:
A thermostable cellulase preparation exhibiting C.sub.1 and C.sub.x cellulytic activities at a temperature from about 60.degree. to about 70.degree. C at a moderately acid pH from about 5.0 to about 5.6 is obtained by culturing the thermophilic fungus Thielavia terrestris (NRRL 8126) in a suitable cellulose-containing medium and recovering the cellulases thus produced.
