ABSTRACT:
Mixed oxide catalyst precursors are milled in the substantial absence of liquid to mean crystallite sizes of at most 1,000.ANG. and formed into catalyst pellets. The process is particularly suitable in the production of vanadium/phosphorus mixed oxide catalysts for the oxidation of butane to maleic anhydride.
