ABSTRACT:
Calcium hypochlorite compositions useful as bleaching agents and disinfectants are produced by the reaction of solid granular quicklime with a gaseous mixture of dichlorine monoxide and an inert gas. The process takes place in the absence of a solvent and produces dry, free-flowing Ca(OCl).sub.2 compositions.
