ABSTRACT:
Aromatic polyamides having improved stability with respect to thermal oxidation are produced by adding to the reaction mixture present as a melt, a stabilizing amount, e.g., 0.05-4 mol % based on the sum total of components A and B, of a compound of Formula (I) ##STR1## wherein Q is --O--; --S--; or N--R'";
