ABSTRACT:
The present invention is concerned with processes for michrohoning cutting edges and especially those of razor blades, wherein the edges are subjected to sonic energy and especially ultrasonic energy while said edges are in contact with a slurry or dispersion of abrasive particles which have diameters of less than 3 microns. The sonic or ultrasonic energy is emitted from a horn having a corrugated end and the ridges of said corrugated end are oriented so as to be perpendicular to the edges of the razor blades as they pass the horn, said blades being stacked in a magazine in which their edges are substantially parallel to one another and their flat surfaces in face-to-face relationship.
