ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to processes for preparing a compound of the formula (V)and alkyl boronic esters thereof wherein R1is attached at the 2 or 3 position of the benzene ring, R2is attached at the 5 or 6 position, and R1, R2and G are as defined herein. Said compound is a key synthetic intermediate in the preparation of 2-amino-6-(substituted-4-phenoxy)-substituted-pyridines useful as nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitors in a mammal.
