ABSTRACT:
A process of regenerating catalysts is carried out by removing precipitates of carbonaceous materials from the catalyst. This process comprises contacting a deteriorated catalyst with a nitrogen oxide gas or a nitrogen oxide-containing gas at a temperature ranging between 200.degree. C. and 800.degree. C.
