ABSTRACT:
A process for treating monovalent silver oxide (Ag.sub.2 O) alone or in combination with other materials to increase its compressibility, increase its ability to absorb electrolyte, and decrease its carbon dioxide absorption rate by the step of heating the silver oxide or silver oxide mixture to temperatures of from about 150.degree. C to about 300.degree. C for a period of time from about 1 hour to about 5 hours.
