ABSTRACT:
A process for treating certain particles of less than 40 microns average diameter size in a silicone reactor where methyl chloride is reacted with particles of silicon in the presence of copper to produce chlorosilanes comprising removing particles of less than 40 microns average diameter size; and abraiding said particles to remove the surface coating; and returning said particles to the reactor.
