ABSTRACT:
In the treatment of a sealable film surface by means of a flame, a film is passed over a cooling roll (4). A burner (1) is mounted above this cooling roll (4). An unpolarized flame is produced by means of this burner (1). The film is cooled by means of the cooling roll (4) and, if required, by means of additional cooling apparatuses so that the temperature of the flame-treated film surface on leaving the cooling roll (4) is not more than 25.degree.
