ABSTRACT:
A polymerizable monomer is obtained by contacting a waste of thermoplastic resin with a fluid heat transfer medium, cooling the resulting decomposed product and subjecting it to distillation. Synthetic resin such as acrylic acid polystyrenic resins are thus thermally decomposed by contact with a heat transfer medium thereby decomposing it composed of an organic heat transfer medium and an inorganic heat transfer medium having a melting point of less than 500.degree.
