ABSTRACT:
In the disproportionation reaction of a linear olefin such as 1-butene cocted in the presence of a supported tungsten oxide catalyst such as a tungsten oxide-silica catalyst, isomerization of the olefin is inhibited and the conversion ratio for the disproportionation reaction of the olefin is increased by conducting the reaction in the presence of an amine compound such as ammonia or n-butylamine or a halogen compound such as chloroform.
