Naproxene ((+)-6-methoxy-.alpha.-methyl-2-naphthaleneacetic acid) is recovered from the corresponding racemic acid by treatment of the latter with N-substituted R-(-)-2-amino-1-butanols and recovery of the resulting diastereomeric salt.
