ABSTRACT:
Process for the removal of residual monomers from ABS polymers prepared by emulsion polymerization, wherein from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the solids content in the latex, of an electrolyte such as an acid or a salt are added to a latex containing an ABS polymer, and the mixture is at the same time heated to a temperature of from 55.degree. to 120.degree. C. while the residual monomer and part of the water are removed by distillation.
