ABSTRACT:
A process for the production of a modified H-mordenite which comprises bringing an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal-type mordenite into contact with SiCl.sub.4 under a heating condition and then converting the treated mordenite into an H-type via ion exchange, a catalyst comprising the modified H-mordenite and a process for the production of methylamines using the use of the catalyst.
