ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing an extensively amorphous butene-1-propene-ethene terpolymer having a high softening point comprises low pressure solution polymerizing butene-1, propene and ethene by contacting these monomers with a catalytically effective amount of a mixed catalyst of a thermally unstable crystalline TiCl.sub.3 .multidot.0.30 to 0.35 AlCl.sub.3 and a trialkyl aluminum or dialkyl aluminum hydride, each having alkyl groups of 2-4 carbon atoms, the atomic ratio of Al:Ti being 0.8-4.0.
