ABSTRACT:
Preparation of deoxy-.alpha.-acids (deoxyhumulons) by prenylation of the corresponding acylphloroglucinols under alkaline conditions, whereby prenylation is performed in a mixture of water and an organic solvent immiscible with water, in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst.
