3-Substituted amino-5-pyrazolones containing at least one sulfo group represented by the formula: ##STR1## and a process for producing the above pyrazolones by reacting a .beta.-substituted amino-.beta.-alkoxy acrylic acid derivative represented by the formula: ##STR2## and a hydrazine containing at least one sulfo group represented by the formula:
