ABSTRACT:
In a process for processing digitized signals representing an original image, the image is defined by scanning lines having a predetermined number of image elements or pixels, each pixel being defined by a predetermined number of bits. The process consists of defining a basic processing module by convolution of pixels of a basic image having N pixels per line. Each pixel is processed in a window of dimensions L.times.P. The process then consists of interconnecting modules identical to the basic module in accordance with a network in which the number of basic modules and their interconnections are dependent on the number of bits defining each pixel of the image to be processed, the number of pixels per line of the image and the dimensions of the chosen processing window.
