ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing triethylenediamines which comprises contacting an amine compound having, in the molecule, a group represented by the general formula: ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X is nitrogen or oxygen) with a catalyst comprising crystalline metallosilicate having a silica (SiO.sub.2)/metal oxide (M.sub.2 O.sub.3) molar ratio of 12/1 or more under a pressure of not less than 4 kg/cm.sup.2 (absolute pressure).
According to the present invention, the conversion of the amine compound can be greatly increased and thus the desired triethylenediamines can be produced in a high yield.
