ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of salt granulates particularly useful as carrier media for liquid washing agent raw materials in detergent compositions of high bulk density. The process includes granulation under pressure of salt powder having a content of water of crystallization of at least 10% and an average particle size of 1 to 500 .mu.m, and subsequent extraction of the water of crystallization in a fluidized bed at a temperature of the bed which is below the melting point of the granulate. In the granulation process use is preferably made of a mixture of water of crystallization-holding salts and anhydrous salts.
