ABSTRACT:
Preparation of a polyarylene sulphide by polycondensing a substituted p-dihalogenobenzene and optionally a polyhalogeno aromatic compound having at least three halo substituents with an alkali metal sulphide in a polar solvent in the presence of a catalytic amount of a tri-alkali metal phosphate.
