ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of norpatchoulenol is described according to the reaction scheme: ##STR1## Novel intermediates of formulae ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 is methyl or benzyl and ##STR3## wherein R.sup.1 is methyl or benzyl and X is hydroxy, trityloxy, tosyloxy or halogen, are also described.
