ABSTRACT:
A method for preparing heat-curable silicone resins by reacting siloxanes with low molecular, multifunctional alcohol and removing the alcohol from the reaction mixture such that each siloxane group corresponds to approximately one alcohol group and terminating the reaction at a degree of conversion of 25% to 80% by cooling the reaction mixture to a temperature of less than 100.degree. C. The silicone resins prepared according to this process have excellent storage stability in the uncured state, a high rate of curing and excellent pigment compatibility and the cured resins possess high thermal stability with good elasticity and good adhesion to metallic substrates.
