ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of a formylalkanolamine which comprises reacting carbon monoxide with an alkanolamine at a temperature ranging from about 60.degree. to 300.degree. C. and at a pressure ranging from about 100 to 10,000 psig, said alkanolamine being represented by the formula:
