ABSTRACT:
4-Vinylcyclohexene-1 is converted to ethylbenzene by contacting the vinylcyclohexene at a temperature ranging from about 100.degree. C. to about 450.degree. C. with a catalyst prepared by impregnating an alumina with an oxide or decomposable salt of Na, K, Rb, Cs, Ca, Sr and/or Ba and calcining the impregnated material at a temperature ranging from about 450.degree. C. to about 750.degree. C.
