ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a process for the preparation of ether-containing chlorides by reacting an ether-alcohol, ether-glycol or ether-polyglycol with a chlorinating agent such as thionyl chloride in the presence of a catalytic amount of a quaternary ammonium salt, the reaction being conducted at a temperature of about 25.degree. C. to about 90.degree. C.
