ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing a cross-linked alkyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer having improved linear viscoelastic properties desired in oral care preparations, wherein the cross-linking of an alkyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer with a polyol compound is carried out at a temperature of from about 50.degree. to about 90.degree. C. and the cross-linked product is recovered.
