ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of an alkali metal borohydride.
According to this process, a mixture of an alkali metal hydride, boric anhydride and a hydrogenation catalyst such as Raney nickel is raised to a temperature of 250.degree. to 300.degree. C. under a hydrogen atmosphere. This gives an alkali metal borohydride, such as lithium-n borohydride, in accordance with the following reaction:
