ABSTRACT:
2,2'-bis[4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol]sulfide is prepared by suspending 4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol in an organic solvent, reacting it with sulfur dichloride or sulfur monochloride at a temperature of from -10.degree. to 40.degree. C., and isolating the precipitate so formed.
