ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides an agent for the introduction of nitrogen into cast iron, wherein it contains or consists of at least 50% by weight of at least one nitrogen-containing compound with an N--C--N structure and/or a mixture of calcium cyanamide with nitrides of silicon, ferrosilicon, manganese and chromium.
The present invention also provides a process for the introduction of nitrogen into cast iron using this agent.
