ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to the protection of zinc surfaces by depositing a protecting coating.
The process of the invention comprises the formation of a pyrophosphate coating by electrolytic oxidization of the articles treated in contact with a solution containing pyrophosphate ions or ions capable of giving pyrophosphates.
The invention is particularly useful for protecting galvanized objects in contact with aqueous environments.
