ABSTRACT:
A process for the development of color photographic light-sensitive material is described. The process comprises color developing an exposed light-sensitive material in the presence of a compound of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein M is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, NH.sub.4 or a protective group for the mercapto group which undergoes cleavage by the action of an alkali; R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and R' is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms. This process prevents the formation of color development fog without seriously reducing sensitivity.
