ABSTRACT:
C.sub.2 -C.sub.5 olefins and aromatics are prepared by catalytic conversion of lower aliphatic C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 oxygenates in the presence of a medium pore gallium containing zeolite catalyst having a ZSM-5 framework at elevated conversion temperatures. The process favors production of valuable unsaturated hydrocarbons and aromatics with low paraffin output.
