ABSTRACT:
A new process for manufacturing pharmaceutical or cosmetic compacted powders providing an absorbent or partially friable compacted product, in which a quantity of powder mixture is placed at the bottom of a chamber in which a piston is made to slide in order to exert a compaction pressure on the powder mixture, wherein the powder mixture contains from 5 to 80% by weight of at least one thermoplastic product having a particle size of between 5 and 500 .mu., the remainder being composed of at least one non-thermoplastic product containing from 0.5 to 20% by weight of a binder and, that, whilst pressure is being applied, the powder mixture is subjected to ultrasonic force.
