ABSTRACT:
The invention is directed to a method for the addition of additives, for instance, heat-stabilizers, anti-oxidants, UV-stabilizers, internal or external lubricants, antistatic agents, antiblocking agents, corrosion-inhibitors, and the like, to thermoplastics, by melting the additive in mineral oil to form a melt and then adding the melt to the processing of thermoplastic resins. By mixing additives with the mineral oil, the additives may be melted or dissolved in the mineral oil at temperatures less than the melting point of said additives.
