ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a process for the conversion of difficultly degradable or toxic substances into degraded or degradable substances. The substances are treated by passing direct current of 0.5 to 50 mA/cm.sup.2 through an aqueous medium containing 0.5 to 10 mg/l hydrogen peroxide per COD unit.
