ABSTRACT:
Process for removing sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from gaseous mixtures which comprises contacting such mixtures, in the presence of a reducing agent comprising carbon monoxide, hydrogen, or mixtures thereof, with a solid reagent comprising calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, or mixtures thereof at temperatures in excess of about 700.degree. C.
