ABSTRACT:
For recovering methylacetylene and/or propadiene from a C.sub.3 -containing feed stream. The feed stream is treated with a first stream of physical solvent, e.g. DMF, under an elevated pressure to absorb the C.sub.3 -acetylenes. Propadiene is then selectively stripped from the loaded, first solvent stream and rescrubbed with a second solvent stream under a lower pressure. A residual gaseous stream may then be stripped from the second solvent, which gas may be further rescrubbed with a third stream of solvent to obtain an additional propadiene. Methylacetylene in the first solvent, as well as propadiene in the second or third solvent stream may then be recovered separately or together.
