ABSTRACT:
A process for racemization of an optically active 1-phenylethylamine derivative represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a phenyl group substituted at least at the ortho-position, which comprises reacting the optically active 1-phenylethylamine derivative (1) with an aldehyde compound represented by formula (2):
