ABSTRACT:
A polyfluoroiodide is produced by reacting an acid halide of a polyfluorocarbon in a perhalogenated solvent with I.sub.2 and at least one salt selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal carbonate and an alkaline earth metal carbonate.
