ABSTRACT:
A process for the production of decahydroisoquinoline is disclosed which comprises hydrogenating isoquinoline or partially hydrogenated isoquinoline in the presence of a ruthenium catalyst at a temperature of 110.degree. C. to 230.degree. C. under a hydrogen pressure of at least 10 kg/cm.sup.2 .multidot.G.
