ABSTRACT:
A process for converting cat cracker bottoms to a feedstock suitable for carbon artifact manufacture, especially carbon fiber manufacture, is provided. Basically, the cat cracker bottom is stripped of fractions boiling below about 400.degree. C., heat soaked and then vacuum stripped to provide a suitable feedstock.
