ABSTRACT:
A process for producing a weather-resistant polycarbonate resin by solution polymerization, of at least one dihydric phenol and phosgene in which a compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3, each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having from 6 to 20 carbon atoms; m represents 1 or 2; and n represents an integer of from 1 to 10, is used as a terminator. The polycarbonate resin produced exhibits high weather resistance without suffering from volatilization.
