ABSTRACT:
A process of preparing a N-substituted imide as disclosed, which is carried out in accordance with the equation: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl radical containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or an aryl radical having 1 or 2 phenyl rings bearing up to 5 substituents selected from the group consisting of 1 to 3 atoms of halogen, 1 to 2 nitro, amino, or hydroxy groups, 1 to 4 alkyl radicals, and 1 to 2 alkoxy or alkylthiol radicals each containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a hexyl radical, optionally substituted;
